Part 4:

Vowel “ə” (the, love, was, today, money, word, for, for you, forever)
Vowel “ˈɔ” (always, all, party, darling, awesome)

These are often a challenge to differentiate between for foreign speakers, so pay particular attention to the progression as Alex learns.

Diphthongs “A” “I” “U”

Part 5:

diphthong eɪ (say, day, thanks, favorite, play)
diphthong aɪ (rice, wild, child, time)
diphthong uː (you, few, view, human, usual)

These are often a challenge to differentiate between for foreign speakers, so pay particular attention to the progression as Alex learns.

“BBC Murders Kills it at the Parker Playhouse”

January 18, 2013 | Category: Events, News, Performances, Pictures & Video, Press

“An amusing Agatha Christie quartet is a delightful hybrid of theater and classic radio drama.”

~ Review by Christine Dolen of the Miami Herald

Amy Walker and Gary Sandy in "Personal Call", one of the four acts

…If The BBC Murders has a leading lady (in addition to the genial Peterson as Christie, of course) and most valuable player, Amy Walker gets both titles. Brilliant at accents and looking a bit like a younger Kristin Scott Thomas, Walker morphs from a mysterious seductress in Butter to a frightened guest house owner in Three Blind Mice to the imperiled new wife of Personal Call to a Peruvian (no, really) movie star and torch singer in Yellow Iris. In all four plays, she’s terrific.” Click for full review

Agatha Christie’s The BBC Murders:

If you’re in the Miami – Fort Lauderdale area, indulge in this fun Live Radio Theatre show, in which I play 4 leading ladies:

…Marvelous performances by Gary Sandy as a philandering lawyer and Amy Walker as the black widow spider who lures him into her web. Walker, a chic beauty in the Claire Bloom mold, appears in all four plays as characters covering the gamut of class with a droll comic tone that is delightful
